16 steps to complete.
eCommerce Admin has many tools to configure a eCommerce Site. Once such tool is Multi-Faceted Configuration (MFC), a set of powerful options that allow you to tailor the visibility of specific page elements for distributors.
MFC is found in many different places in eCommerce Admin; therefore, for the purposes of this how-to, we are going to guide you through one specific MFC.
To learn more about MFC, see Multi-Faceted Configuration in eCommerce Admin (MFC).
In eCommerce Admin, navigate to: Retail Shop Configuration > Social Links Share.
On the Social Links page, click the + ADD SOCIAL LINK button.
The Add Social Link pop-up window opens.
Alternatively, you can edit an existing link MFC: back on the Social Links page, in the list of existing social links, hover you mouse over one, and a Edit icon will appear on the right. Click the Edit icon to open the Edit Link pop-up window that contains the same fields as the Add Social Link pop-up window.
In the Add Social Link pop-up window, click the Always Show toggle to set up a start and/or end date for the link to be visible.
Always Show is Toggled on by default. Toggling off reveals two buttons: ADD START DATE and ADD END DATE.
Under the Always Show toggle, click the ADD START DATE button to specify the date/time the link is visible, if applicable.
Three fields reveal that you can set: Start Date, Start Time, and Time Zone.
Click the ADD END DATE button to specify the date the link expires, if applicable.
Three fields reveal that you can set: End Date, End Time, and Time Zone.
In the Owner Configuration section, In the Countries dropdown, select the countries for which the link will show.
In the Languages dropdown, select the languages for which the link will show.
In the User Type dropdown, select the user types for whom the link will show.
In the User Statuses dropdown, select the user statuses for whom the link will show.
In the User Ranks dropdown, select the user ranks for whom the link will show.
In the Custom Configurations text field, use DirectScale’s query language to define custom visibility states.
See the DirectScale Query Language Helper for how to write the syntax.
In the Viewer Configuration section, click the Show To Public Viewer toggle to choose whether or not the link is viewable to any visitor of the eCommerce Site.
For the Visitor Countries dropdown, refer to Step 5.
For the Visitor Languages dropdown, refer to Step 6.
In the LoggedIn User Configuration section, click the Show To LoggedIn User toggle to choose whether or not the link is viewable to only logged in users of the eCommerce Site.
For the LoggedIn User Countries, Languages, Type, Statuses, Ranks, and Custom Configuration, see Steps 5-10.
Click the SAVE button at the top to save you new link.
Customers and Associates who visit your eCommerce Site will now be displayed only the pages and elements that you want them to see, giving them a robust, tailored eCommerce experience.
You now know how to configure a page element in eCommerce Admin with MFC.
