Visible SCM, formerly IntegraCore, is a Supply Chain Management company available to you as a Third-Party Logistics Provider (3PL) integration with the DirectScale platform.
With this guide, we are going cover the step involved in connecting your Visible account to Corporate Office.
In Corporate Office, navigate to: Administration > Advanced Settings > 3PL
Integrating with Visible
Setup an account with Visible.
Visible will provide the Integracore_Username, Integracore_Password, Integracore_ShipCustomerId, Integracore_BillCustomerId, and Customer ID.
Enter the provided credentials in the 3PL > Integracore form.
The fields in the blue box are required. Everything else is deprecated and can be safely ignored.
- Integracore SKUs need to match Disco SKUs or nothing will ship.
- Warehouse ID no longer needs to be specified since the ship methods live in the warehouse, so mapping happens behind the scenes.
- Setting the 3PL Provider in the dropdown is a deprecated feature, so it’s not necessary.
Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
Setting up a Warehouse and Shipping Method with Visible
Once your credentials have been saved, you can connect your integration to a warehouse and shipping method.
Step-by-step guide: How to Add a New Warehouse
Step-by-step guide: How to Add Shipping Methods
Follow the guides above to learn more about warehouses and shipping methods. You’ll set up each as you normally would and select IntegraCore as the 3PL provider; however, with Visible (Integracore), their are some important notes:
Warehouse 3PL Configuration
The Logistics Provider (3PL) field is required and is used to determine what 3PL is used to ship the orders.
When editing/adding a warehouse the 3PL Setting field is the Site ID for Visible (Integracore), so in this case enter “1”.
Selecting LogisticsProvider for a shipping method will make a call to the 3PL provider to determine the cost to ship.
When adding an Visible (IntegraCore) ship method the 3PL Code field is required. Example: RTE:CST 02,03 (
The first section, in the instance RTE, determines the carrier used. RTE is used to get use whatever carrier has the best rate. Could be UPS, FDX, etc for specific carriers.
Possible Carrier Codes
Ship Speed Code
Next is the Service Code or Ship Speed Code. This is to specify the speed at which the item is shipped. Often times the service code will match the carrier code when a specified carrier is used (UPS:UPS 01). The number portion maps to settings set by Integracore for that client. If a client wants to have Next Day and Ground shipping then Integracore would need to set those up for the client and assign each method a service code (01, 02, 03, etc).
Lastly is the PayCode. This is used to specify how the shipping will be paid. In pretty much all cases, this will remain 03 (prepaid - meaning paid when order is placed). Other options could include payment upon delivery and such; however, at the time of this writing DirectScale only supports 03.
FORMAT IS IMPORTANT. The code must follow the format shown in the above example.
Possible Payment Codes
- Prepaid: 03
- Third Party Account: 04
- Collect: 01
More Important Notes
The Shipping Cost field of a ship method DOES NOT determine the shipping provider, it is only used to determine the cost of shipping the package.
When LogisticsProvider is selected the Price field can be used to ADD cost on top of the price returned by the 3PL.
For example: If a 2 is entered in the Price field and the 3PL returns a shipping cost of $6.50 then total cost for shipping will be presented to the customer as $8.50.
When an order is placed it queues up a call to Visible’s synchronize function wherein package’s shipping status’s are updated and products sent to Visible for shipping. This function is run 30 minutes after the order is placed.
The portion of code that imports unshipped packages to Visible runs a query to the database, but only looks for orders that are an hour or more old, so keep that in mind when you’re looking for a newly placed order in Visible’s PortKey site.
All items require a SKU (referred to as ItemID to Visible) and can only contain numbers, letters, dashes, and underscores.
Visible credentials are case sensitive, including the username.
