6 steps to complete
The eCommerce Shop, like all websites, features static and dynamic content. Although most elements that can be customized using the appropriate eCommerce Admin page, some elements are “hard-coded” into the HTML and are therefore static.
With the Localization page you can add new or edit existing strings to modify the static content to fit your specific needs.

Most of the content strings are already available and you just need to search for either the string or the text value and then edit them. But some strings haven’t been added to the system or are new strings created by you when creating custom pages.
This guide will show you the steps involved in adding strings to the system using the Localization page.
Strings are defined in the HTML
translate attribute, such as
<p translate="string_name"></p>. You can use the developer tools for your browser to find the string in the HTML code (e.g., In Chrome, right-click the static text and select Inspect.)
In eCommerce Admin, navigate to: Content Management > Localization.
In the Localization page, click the + ADD NEW button.
The New String pop-up window opens.
In the pop-up, click the Select Application dropdown and select Retail.
Currently the only option is Retail.
Enter the string name in the Key field.
In the Text Value field, enter the text that will display in the eCommerce Shop.
For changes to be visible now, click CLEAR CACHE.
Then, if you have the eCommerce Shop open in a different tab, refresh the page to see your changes.
Note: some string changes can take awhile to take effect. Clearing your browser cache can be effective or checking back later until the system’s cache clears automatically.
You now know how to add strings using the Localization page in eCommerce Admin.
