6 steps to complete
When adding inventory items for different markets, you may need to translate and localize the Product Name, Description, and Specifications to match the language and cultural values of the intended market.
You can accomplish this in two ways: first, duplicate each inventory item for every market (this option is good if you have to change more than the Product Name, Description, and Specifications, such as the images, category, or any other data).
For this first option, there is no special process in adding inventory items, other than the data you enter. Step-by-step guide: How to Add Inventory Items and Pricing
The second way is to use the translation features within an inventory item’s configuration to translate the Product Name, Description, and Specifications.
This guide will show you the steps involved in using an inventory item’s translation options.
In Corporate Office, navigate to: Inventory > Inventory items.
Click the SKU or Product Name of the item you want to localize.
You are navigated to the item’s detail page.
Under the General tab, select the Language.
In the Product Name field, enter the translated name.
In the Description TinyMCE Text Editor, enter the translated content.
Likewise, enter the translation into the Specification TinyMCE Text Editor.
Click Save Changes.
You can switch between your translations with the Language dropdown under the General tab.
You now know how to localize inventory items in Corporate Office.
