Set up an inventory item SKU for the subscription. For example, if you want to have a monthly subscription, you need to add an inventory item that represents that subscription.
For a full guide on setting up inventory, see: Inventory Items and Pricing Guide.
What We’ll Cover
Finding the Page
In Corporate Office, navigate to: Inventory > Inventory Items.
Adding a New SKU
Subscription SKUs must have at least the following set up:
- Click New Item.
- Enter a Name, Description (optional), and Specifications (optional) under the General tab
- Enter a SKU (required) name and select a Category (required) under the Data tab.
Adding a Price Adjustment
Under the Prices and Discounts tab, click Add Price Adjustment.
The Price and Discount pop-up window opens.
Complete the configuration following the Adding Price Adjustments guide section. As with any inventory item, you’ll need to enter a Price and complete all fields under Targeting.
For subscriptions, there’s some key information needed:
- Stores - Ensure that the item is added to the Autoship store.
- Order Types - Select Standard and Autoship. All inventory items need to have Standard selected, and all autoships or subscriptions need to have both Standard and Autoship selected.
Noting the ItemID
Note the Item ID for later.
This can be found in the inventory item’s Item Detail page, as well as in the URL.
The Item ID is important because it’s how you’ll reference the inventory item in the Database, so take note of it for later in the guide.
ItemID is also the
recordnumber in the INV_Inventory table.
