🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🌟 Improved! Inventory Category Translations [Corp Admin] This has been a long-awaited feature! Now you can translate the product category names just like you manage the translations on your products. The drop down setting for language on the Category management page now updates all shopping environments properly.

🌟 Improved! Inventory Item Translations Experience Improvement [Corp Admin] This is another one that is bothersome to clients who have multiple languages. When creating an inventory item, the language drop down was in alphabetical order. So if you had a language that is alphabetically before English, you would have to remember to switch that drop down every time. No more! Now English is the first option in the drop down and the only language required to save an Inventory item.

🌟 Improved! Coupons for Multiple Order Types [Corp Admin] When creating a coupon previously you could only select one option in the Order Type field. That has been converted to a multi-select to create a single coupon that can apply to multiple order types. If the Order Type field is left blank the coupon will apply to all order types.

🌟 Improved! Money Out Account Setting Through Client Extension [Client Extension] To better support custom money out options in the client extension, there is a new service called IMoneyOutService.SetActiveOnFileMerchant that sets an associates active merchant and enables you to fill in their merchant account details.

🌟 Improved! Retail Admin Activity Log Limited to 90 days [Retail Admin] By only keeping 90 days of logged activity in the Retail Admin, we can improve the load time of that page and the Retail Admin in general.

🔮 Upcoming! Improved Unified Checkout Experience [Retail Site] Our teams are constantly working to improve the shopping experience and right now they are busy working on a whole new way to shop and checkout. Keep your eye on the release notes in the next few weeks to see what’s coming and how to take advantage of these new features.

 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Javascript Console Errors on Inventory [Corp Admin] Some customers were reporting caching issues and JS errors when managing inventory items. This caused some images to look broken or saving to not work. This has been fixed. 

🐞Fixed: Sharing to Twitter [Web Office] The “Share on Twitter” button used when sharing documents and media was not working. This has been fixed.

🐞Fixed: Reset Password by Back Office ID Not Working [Retail Site] When trying to reset a password on the Retail Site by using the Back Office ID it was not triggering the email to be sent. This has been fixed. 

🐞Fixed: Summary Cart Component Template Not Loading [Retail Site Admin] If you tried to create a new component template for the Summary Cart, it was not loading due to an error in the JS. This has been fixed and did not affect any existing component templates.

 

📘 Help Center and Developer Portal

📘New! Custom Client Schema [Developers] Added information and examples for the client schema which contains all tables created and maintained in the Client Extension. It can be edited via custom tables in the Data Editor.

📘New! Duplicating Commission Period Entries [Article] Added details about this in the Corporate Office.

📘New! Can I change a Back Office ID? [Article] Added an article to answer this common question. Short answer? You can but you probably shouldn’t.

📘New! Changing the Minimum Enrollment Age and Allowing Duplicate Associate Email Addresses.  [Article] These articles were put into their own articles and linked from the Adding Associates article.

📘New! Changing the Default Free Shipping Coupon Text [Article] For example, the default text can be confusing if the coupon only gives 50% off shipping rather than the whole amount. We added an article to show how to change this.

📘New! Localizing eCommerce Shop Navigation Links [Article] One of our customers recently asked about this, so we added an article to help.

📘New! Localizing Web Office Navigation Links [Article] Might as well throw an article in about localizing the Web Office links while we’re at it.

📘New! Enabling/Disabling Commission Clawbacks [Article] This was searched frequently enough that we made it into its own article.

🌟 Improved! Frequently Asked Questions [Articles] Based on search, keywords, behavior, and ticket data, we added more questions to the FAQ section.

🌟 Improved! Visual Editor [Developers] We improved the Data Editor documentation by consolidating the visual editor articles to avoid confusion with the SQL editor.

🌟 Improved! XML Compensation Plan Editor [Developers] Rewrote the article to be easier to understand and more task-focused.

🌟 Improved! Range Types, Volume Accumulators, Volume Types [Developers] Added more XML definitions and examples.

🌟 Improved! Creating an Account with a Payment Provider [Article] Added this in-demand request as an article.

🌟 Improved! Adding Associates [Article] Simplified the instructions.

🌟 Improved! Adding Categories [Article] Added steps to multiple language options for localization. Also generally improved the content.

🌟 Improved! Creating Coupons [Article] Added information for selecting multiple order types.

🌟 Improved! Defining Rules [Developers] Added a section on Conditional Operators.

🐞Fixed! Viewing an Associate’s Detail Summary [Article] Fixed the reference to the DirectScale ID being the same as the Associate Type, instead of the Associate ID.

 

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

  • Improving shipping package support and stock level enhancements
  • Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
  • We have created a DirectScale Marketplace [Beta] for customers to get access to Apps, Integrations, and other expert industry services and will go “live” with it soon.
  • We are working on a Troubleshooting project to improve articles with steps to resolve issues in addition to showing how to do something in the platform.
