Release Notes: January 30, 2020

1

Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of January 30th 2020.

January is almost over and the first month of 2020 has been incredibly productive for our product teams!  We’ve made a ton of improvements to our new Retail Admin and are continuing to improve the reporting, commissions, and inventory areas in the Corporate Office.  In addition to a bunch of new and improved features, we also squashed an incredible amount of bugs thanks to efforts from our Chat Support team working with clients to identify and report those bugs!

Remember to come back every Thursday, or subscribe to “News from DirectScale” to get reminders about all the cool things we are delivering.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🌟 Improved! Associate Search Ignores Accents [Corporate Office] Different languages can be tricky to program around!  Now when you search for a name that may contain an accent the results will be returned.  Searching for Jose will also return everyone named José!

🌟 Improved! Activity Log for Custom Pages and Banners [Retail Admin] Continuing our efforts to build out the functionality in the Retail Admin, we are now logging all changes made to the Custom Pages and Banners.

🎁 New! Copy Existing Settings For New Clients [Retail Admin] This is going to make getting new clients up on our Retail Site so much easier!  Now we can copy from an existing set of default settings when creating a new client.

🌟 Improved! Switch Between Environments [Retail Admin] Just like we have the ability to quickly switch between Live and Stage on the Web Office Admin, this functionality has been added into the Retail Admin as well.  This makes it much easier to test and publish content from one environment to the other!

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Inventory Weight Not Required for Fixed Cost [Corporate Office] Previously, if a shipping method was set up as a “Fixed Cost” (read how), the inventory items still required a weight to be configured before the cost would calculate.  This has been updated so a Fixed Cost is truly a fixed cost no matter how much an item weighs.

🐞Fixed: AutoshipRepository.GetAutoShipsWithOrders Wasn’t Assigning NextProcessDate [Corporate Office] When a client developer was trying to do any programming that required to know the next processing date of an autoship, the parameter was missing from the GetAutoShipsWithOrders API.  Now it’s being properly returned.

🐞Fixed: “Learn How” Links Were Still Pointing to the Old Help Site [Retail Admin] In the Retail Admin there were a few “Learn How” links that were still pointed to our old help articles.  We’ve updated these so they go to our new (and greatly improved) help articles.

🐞Fixed: Data Privacy Not Working on Widgets [Web Office Admin] On some widgets in the Web Office the Data Privacy rules were not being applied.  This has been fixed so business rules to hide data points will be properly followed

🐞Fixed: Issues with Updating User Info [Web Office Admin] We have fixed the Admin for updating users so you no longer have to update the password with every update, usernames have validation (minimum of 1 character is required), and password validation has increased to be at least 8 characters.  No action is required and users can continue to use their existing info to log into the Web Office Admin.

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

  • We keep going creating more Corporate Office reporting enhancements to make it easier to write with SQL.
  • More small changes to the Inventory area in Corporate Office to remove broken or unused functionality.
  • Better backup options for when tax providers go down.
  • Ongoing Retail Admin improvements to improve ease of use and add new configurable settings.
