Make Stock Level Editing and Track BOM Setting Available prior to SKU being purchased

Right now, I cannot set a SKU to be "Track BOM" until after it has been purchased and thus shows up on the stock levels page to click...(and then it's warehouse by warehouse - have to have a purchase on each WH to have it available to set)
Also, I cannot set Inventory levels of a SKU until after it has been purchased and thus shows up on the stock levels page to click...
When I have a new SKU, I'd like to be able to set the stock level or set it to be tracked via BOM prior to turning it live for purchase (and without having to process fake orders to get the SKU to appear in the stock levels list).

Huntley thank you for taking the time to submit this. Because of the time gap between now and when you submitted this, I’m thinking this could already be resolved. But if not, I would like to make sure I understand the trouble you are having. It hasn’t been my experience that an item must be purchased first before you can set it to “Track BOM.” To set that, click on the item in the stock levels list. Then, under “Track Stock Levels” change the setting to “Track BOM” and then save it. I just tested this with a brand new item that hasn’t been purchased yet and was able to set it immediately. Similarly for adding an item to the stock levels list of items, it hasn’t been my experience that it must be purchased first. To add one, click on the “Add Item” button, then select the item from the drop down list. Stock levels are tracked by warehouse, so be sure to make adjustments per warehouse where applicable.
