Custom Fields allow you to capture and use additional data points on associates, orders, autoships, and inventory if there is not already a dedicated field in the DirectScale database for what you need. Custom Fields can be used for a variety of reasons, including custom development.
Enabling Custom Fields
Associate custom fields are enabled by default. However, before using custom fields on orders, autoships, and inventory, you must enable those release toggles within the Corporate Admin.
To enable custom fields, contact Customer Care and request that the release toggles be enabled for the custom fields you wish to use:
- Order Custom Fields
- Inventory Custom Fields
- Autoship Custom Fields
A team member will assist by activating the release toggles, which will enable the custom field widgets and sections mentioned in the subsequent sections below.
Customer Care Internal Steps
-
Navigate to Corporate Admin > Advanced Settings > Release Toggles > Custom Fields.
-
Check the appropriate checkbox(es) for the custom fields that the client would like to use.
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save Changes.

URL: [CLIENTID].corpadmin.directscale[ENVIRONMENT].com/Corporate/Admin/CustomFields
Permission: ViewAdministration()
Because custom fields can be used for any number of reasons, adding a description for each in use will make it easier to identify what they are being used for. The descriptions entered will be used as the field labels within Corporate Admin.
To save a custom field description, simply type in a short description for the corresponding custom field(s), then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
The descriptions saved on this page are for informational and display purposes only, and do not affect any custom field functionality. |
