Release Notes: January 9, 2020

Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of January 8th 2020.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🌟 Improved! Update and Edit Custom Reports [Corporate Office] Last release we introduced the ability to create new custom reports in the Corporate Office via SQL and now you can update and edit those already saved reports. Have no fear of getting your report right the first time! (read all about custom reports)

🌟 Improved! Inventory Price Published by Date and Time [Corporate Office] Thanks to our new Feature Wishlist forum we received this awesome idea to allow the pricing of items to be turned on/off at the date/time level instead of just the date. (read how)  Keep sending us great ideas!

🎁 New! Custom Field Support [Corporate Office] As part of our never-ending effort to be fully extensible, we have added developer level support to extend the Order table by adding up to 5 custom fields. Contact support to learn more.

🌟 Improved! Removed Inventory Dashboard [Corporate Office] No one likes a filler page that has no unique data or actions. The same data that was on the Inventory Dashboard can be found on the Warehouses tab. That’s one less click to worry about!

🎁 New! Category URLs [Retail Site] To enable better linking in the Retail Site, all Categories now have their own URL. Using the URL, prospects can now be taken to a product category or specific product that tracks back to the right replicated site. 

🎁 New! Templates from Base Pages [Retail Site] Having the ability to copy one of our base product pages and create a template makes it so much easier to customize your Retail Site. No more starting from scratch to make some small CSS tweaks! (read how) 

🎁 New! Full Coupon and Discount Support [Retail Site] As we continue to build out the functionality on our new Retail Site, we now offer full support for all coupons and discounts on orders and items. Read how to set up coupons and how to set up discounts)

🌟 Improved! Quantity of Items in the Cart  [Retail Site] Sometimes getting the right numbers to display on the page is hard. In this case, the cart in the Retail Site was showing a count of unique items in the cart and not taking into account the quantity. Now the number shows how many items including their quantities. This wasn’t technically a bug so we’re calling it an improvement!

🌟 Improved! Market Specific Address Character Limits [Retail Site] To improve on the existing Address Character Limit rules for shipping addresses, we have added a new layer of control so you can set up limits by market. 

🌟 Improved! Translation Key Added for Training Widget [Web Office] Somehow we missed adding a translation key to the Training Widget title. Thanks to our clients for finding this! 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Previewing Custom Reports was Saving [Corporate Office] When building a Custom Report, clicking the “Preview” was saving your report and creating unnecessary reports. This behavior has been stopped and anyone with a report named “_Preview” can simply delete them out of their list.

🐞Fixed: Bad Table Names Caused SQL to Fail [Corporate Office] If there was a custom table name on an account, the SQL query calling that table would never work. This rare circumstance has been addressed and fixed. 

🐞Fixed: Ship Methods with Long Names Caused Spacing Issues [Corporate Office] On the Order Details, if the Ship Method name was too long, the columns overlapped. This cell now wraps so text won’t collide.

🐞Fixed: ViewCustomReports Permission Level Issue [Corporate Office] When the permission to ViewCustomReports was turned on the Reports tab was still hidden. Now people who have permission to view the Custom Reports page will also see the Reports tab.

🐞Fixed: Top Navigation Links Broken on Initial Page Load [Retail Site] This was happening on Chrome or Edge and any link in the navigation to an internal page was broken or not showing up until the page was refreshed. 

🐞Fixed: Several UI Issues on iPad [Retail Site] There were a few alignment and image issues with the new Retail Site when viewed on an iPad. The issues we know about have been fixed.

🐞Fixed: Dates in Reports Sorting Wrong [Web Office] This was previously fixed for the Corporate Office and now the same fix has been extended to the Web Office.

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

• Even more Corporate Office reporting enhancements to make it easier to write with SQL. 
• More small changes to the Inventory area in Corporate Office to remove broken or unused functionality.
• Better backup options for when tax providers go down. 
• More tables with custom field support (Associates, Autoships, Inventory Items).
