Release Notes: April 9, 2020
Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of April 9th, 2020.
We here at DirectScale have had another very productive week! This week not only brings some much needed warmer weather, but some good updates to our Retail Site Admin and another handful of help videos and training documents.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!
🎁 New! More Component Templates [Retail Site Admin] Even more custom component templates! This time we have added templates for the AllowCVV modal and the Contact Information. Read all about how amazing custom templates are and how to use them here.
🌟 Improved! Split Volume Distribution Commission Period [Corp Office & Web Office] Another improvement to orders where volume is distributed over time. Now the commission period that the volume amount will be paid in displays so the viewer has confidence that the volume will be paid out at the right time.
🌟 Improved! Support for Corp Office Admin to be Viewable in Web Office Admin [Corp Office & Web Office] We are working towards having a single, unified admin experience across all out platforms. This story creates the backend support for us to be able to start setting up pages in the Web Office Admin to view pages from the Corp Office Admin.
🌟 Improved! ORD_PaymentGatewayTransactions Number Field Updated to 100 Characters [Corp Office] This update is to support a client who is writing a PayPal integration. Previously the Number field only allowed 30 characters and now it is set to 100 and will accommodate the PayPal email addresses.
🌟 Improved! GetOrders Updated to Include PaymentID [Corp Admin API] When GetOrders is called the payment object now returns the PaymentID.
🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed
🐞Fixed: Orders Paid with RWD Showing in Sales Reports [Corp Office] Orders that were paid using reward points were being treated as orders paid for with actual currency and were throwing off the sales reports. Now the base product reports (Total Sales, New Sales, Recurring Sales) won’t include payments of RWD on an order, just the true currency amount collected on an order.
🐞Fixed: Business Snapshot Gets Blurry on Hover [Web Office] When hovering over the numbers on the Business Snapshot widget the text would get a little blurry and make it look out of focus. This has been fixed so your numbers can look as professional as ever.
🐞Fixed: Some Clients Seeing Double Records [Web Office] In the Report Center some reports, some of the time, on some clients were returning the same set of data twice. This has been resolved so no reports, none of the time, for all clients have duplicate data.
🐞Fixed: Broken Sharing Links Go To Blank Page [Retail Site] If a link from the Retail Site has a broken webalias (i.e. if the distributor has changed their webalias) and the user clicks on that broken link, they put in their distributor name and are then taken to a blank page. This has been fixed so broken links don’t affect a redirect.
🐞Fixed: Logging In Without Items [Retail Site] If a user tried to log into the Retail Site with no items in their cart first they were being left on the login page instead of being redirected back to shop. Now they’ll be redirected back to where they were when they clicked to login even if they haven’t started shopping yet.

📘New! Various Partner and Developer Videos [Videos] We’ve added 10 new videos from our own Justin Ence explaining everything from APIs to Commissions to Hooks from a developer perspective.
📘New! eCommerce Shop Customization Guide [Article] Added this guide to help empower our customers to do more of their own customization in the Retail Admin and eCommerce experience.
📘New! How to Set Up VAT Inclusive Pricing [Article] New article on how to include the tax rate in the price of each item in that country, a good idea for countries that have VAT Inclusive Pricing.
🌟 Improved! Managing Countries [Tutorial] Made accuracy, usability, and readability updates to the Managing Countries tutorial.
🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?
- Improving the user experience for when orders have volume that gets distributed over time.
- Better backup options for when tax providers go down.
- Unifying the Admin experience across all our tools.
- Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
- We are creating more user guides for specific parts of the system such as customization and the eCommerce Shop and Retail Admin.
- We are creating videos for the most important parts of initial customization.
- We are documenting the testing needed for going Live with your platform.
