Release Notes: May 28, 2020

Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of May 28th, 2020.

Summer is kicking off! With a shortened holiday week this week we have a nice, short list of releases.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🌟 Improved! SQL Query Optimizations [Corp Admin] Some really technical work was done to improve the speed when running a SQL query. For those who are technical and want to know, we updated any VARCHAR column to be sent as an ANSI string so the results come back faster. 

🌟 Improved! Custom Content Support [Web Office Admin] We are taking more steps towards unifying all the admin sites. This story adds back end support in the Web Office Admin to add pages from our other Admin sites. 

🌟 Improved! Removed Deprecated “Custom Page” Toggles [Retail Site Admin] Work was done previously to automatically detect if a product page had been overridden with a custom page template making the toggles found on the Settings page unnecessary. These toggles have been removed to avoid confusion. 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Company Phone Numbers Showing on Invoices [Web Office Admin] The settings page in the Web Office Admin for Company Details has a ‘Phone’ field that wasn’t clear that this phone number would be the one used on invoices. Now invoices pull in the ‘Support Phone’ field to be clear who to call for support on an invoice.

📘New! Changing Static Content Strings in the eCommerce Shop [Video] New video added for visual representation of these steps.

📘New! Creating Custom Pages in the eCommerce Shop [Video] New video added for visual representation of these steps.

🌟 Improved! How to Add Countries and Languages in eCommerce Admin [Article] Updated for added details and clarity.

🌟 Improved! How to Add Countries and Languages in Web Office Admin [Article] Updated for added details and clarity.

🌟 Improved! How to Configure AutoShip Rules in Web Office Admin [Article] Updated for added details and clarity.

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

• Making it easier to set up subscriptions and annual renewals
• Unifying the Admin experience across all our tools.
• Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
• We are creating more user guides for specific parts of the system such as adding a new market.
• We are creating videos for the most important parts of initial launch eCommerce customization.
• We are documenting the testing needed for going Live with your platform.
