In the system, there are three types of order types for inventory setup:
Standard – The common order type. A one time transaction. All inventory items need to have the Standard order type selected.
Autoship – A recurring order that automatically ships to a customer at a set frequency; typically, monthly. All autoship inventory items need to have BOTH Standard and Autoship order types selected to work as intended.
Enrollment – Somewhat deprecated; this order type is assigned to inventory purchased using an enrollment site. If you’re unfamiliar with an enrollment site, it’s configured in Web Office Admin (Advanced Settings > Enrollment) and hosted on it’s own domain.
The Platform is moving away from using enrollment sites, to instead use the eCommerce Shop’s enrollment application. Orders made within the new enrollment flow are not assigned an Enrollment order type.
There’s an outlier order type, separate from the rest, that’s not assigned to orders called VolumeAdjustment. This order type is assigned when adjusting commission volume for an associate.
Order Type Mapping
The order types are mapped to specific values; useful to know if you’re a developer:
- Standard = 1
- Autoship = 2
- Enrollment = 3
- Volume Adjustment = 4
Selecting Inventory Items Order Types
As a reminder:
- All inventory items need to have the Standard order type selected.
- All autoship inventory items need to have BOTH Standard and Autoship order types selected to work as intended.
Sales Dashboard Sales by Order Type Graph
In the Sales Dashboard there’s a graph that displays all sales broken down by order type.
This bar chart shows the Total Sales for each month over a course of a year but breaks them down by Order Type:
- Standard (green)
- Autoship (gray)
- Enrollment (blue)
Enrollment is any order with the Enrollment Order Type (
OrderType = 3), so any inventory item with the Order Type set to Enrollment will have its sales data display in the bar chart under Enrollment.
