Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of February 27th, 2020.

There are so many good things happening this week!  In addition to all the great features we are delivering and the bugs we are squashing, you can now read all about the new content coming from our Learning Experience team. This team is only a few months old, but they are already killing it with tons of new help articles and really cool tutorial videos! Check out their deliverables below.

Remember to come back every Thursday or subscribe to “News from DirectScale” to get reminders about all the cool things we are delivering.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🎁 New! Unpaid Account Balances [Web Office] Knowing what money you are owed (or what money you may owe) is incredibly important for distributors. On our Pay History page, we have all previously paid checks and the forecasted commissions; but what happens with anything in-between? Now distributors can see any money that’s not tied to a projected commissions period and hasn’t already been paid out in a check, such as any commissions balances that are less than a paycheck threshold, clawbacks from returns, or manual adjustments not tied to a period. Knowledge is power!

🌟 Improved! Stock Levels Reporting Levels Description [Corp Office] This one was kind of a bug, but the kind of bug that has been there since the beginning, so we can technically call it an improvement! In the Stock Levels > Report Levels report, the Description was coming through as the ItemID instead of the actual description. Now the report is much easier to read and understand.

🌟 Improved! Custom Notifications are now Publishable [Web Office Admin] We keep adding pages to be published! This time it’s the Custom Notifications pages.

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Volume in a Previous Period wasn’t Updated when Nodes Moved [Corp Office] When moving people in the tree, the volume was moving for open periods correctly; but for any unpaid, closed period it was not moving the volume. This has been fixed so when a node is moved any volume not attached to a closed period will move with the node.

🐞Fixed: Squire Values Not Mapped when Null Taxable Items [Corp Office] If Squire returned a NULL in the taxable items on an order, we were not mapping the correct response.  This use case was not wide and would error on the order when this happened. We now have handling to properly deal with a tax response when no tax items are returned.

🐞Fixed: Duplicate Roles for SQL Manager Basic [Corp Office] An easy bug fix! There were two identical roles for SQL Manager Basic (allowing users to see the SQL Manager but not save) and now we have just one.

🐞Fixed: Deleting a Store Issues [Corp Office] When a store needed to be deleted (which shouldn't be often) the page would error out if there were still records referencing the store. Now we have error handling, so if there are any objects (price levels, warehouses, shipping methods, categories, etc.) tied to that store, you won’t be able to delete it without removing it from those objects first.

🐞Fixed: Pre-Order Stock Issue [Web Office & Retail Shop] If an item was in the status “Pre-Order”, it was being considered out of stock. This has been fixed so “Pre-Order” is considered in stock and will show in all carts.

🐞Fixed: Mobile Issue with Product Categories [Web Office] In the Place Order page, if a category had only 4 items, it wasn’t showing the drop down on mobile to expand the category.  Not sure why 4. If there were 3, it showed them all; and more than 4, it showed the drop down to expand. Silly.

🐞Fixed: Configure by Rank wasn’t Highest Rank [Retail Site Admin] The configuration to set an asset by Rank was referencing the current rank and not the highest rank. This has been fixed to always look at the highest rank to match all other configuration settings.

📘 Help Documents and Training

📘New! Help Center The Help Center has been live for nearly four months now, but we thought that we’d plug it here again. Visit the Help Center for videos and articles about anything you are trying to learn how to do within the DirectScale platform including adding inventory items, using the SQL Manager or Comp Plan XML editor, or creating custom pages and widgets. Anything you want is there. And, if it isn’t, let us know and we’ll add a new article or video.

📘New! Initial Set Up Training Videos [Video] We have added individual training videos covering most of Day 1 of the Boot Camp Training. Individual videos for Day 2 of Boot Camp are coming throughout March 2020.

📘New! TinyMCE Editor [Article] Added an article explaining how to use the TinyMCE Editor which is a tool found anywhere within the DirectScale platform where customizing of pages or email templates can be done.

📘New! Managing Translations [Article] Added a new article about the Web Office Admin integration that allows you to easily translate any text input into your available languages.

📘New! Adding Banners to Web Office [Video] Added a new video about updating your Web Office Homepage banner images using Web Office Admin.

📘New! Adding Social Media Links to Web Office [Video] Added a new video about updating your Web Office social media links using Web Office Admin.

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

  • Better backup options for when tax providers go down.
  • Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
  • We are creating user guides for specific parts of the system such as the Retail Admin and setting up new markets.
