Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of April 30th, 2020.

Our product teams are finishing out April strong with some fantastic new features and some solid new improvements!

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🎁 New! Tax Error Behavior [Corp Admin] Introducing a better way to calculate and collect tax when there are issues with your main tax provider. There is a new setting found in the Corp Admin under Administration > Advanced Settings > Tax Providers for ‘Tax Error Behavior’ with 3 options to choose from when your tax provider fails to respond.

  • The first/default option is to display the tax error to the user and fail the order.
  • The second option is to let the order go through successfully without collecting tax (use reporting to later reconcile tax).
  • The third option is to use the DirectScale Backup Tax service to successfully charge the order. The DirectScale Backup Tax service is based on basic tax tables and reporting should be used to reconcile any differences in actual tax calculations.

There are benefits to each of these options, so reach out to our support team for help determining which option is right for you.

🌟 Improved! Report Center Caching Improvements [Web Office] This is an ongoing story where we will continue to improve the reporting experience focusing on speed. You should start to see incremental improvements around speed, especially for top leaders, in the report center as a result of improving our strategy around caching data. 

🌟 Improved! General API Cleanup [Retail Site] Lots of code clean up this week on the Retail Site.  We keep cleaning it up and making it faster every week!

🎁 New! Fraud Prevention Providers in Retail [Retail Site] Enrollments made through the Retail Site can now follow the fraud prevention flow implemented in our other systems. Reach out to support if you would like more information on fraud prevention. 

 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Adding New Nav Link Required Cache Clear [Retail Site Admin] When adding a new link to the navigation, the link wouldn’t show up until the cache was cleared. This has been fixed so new navigation links show up right away.

🐞Fixed: Forgot Password Not Taking ID [Retail Site] If the user needed to reset their password from the Retail Site by using their ID, the email was never sent. Now the users can reset their password by putting in their ID, email, or username.

  • Improving the user experience for when orders have volume that gets distributed over time.
  • Unifying the Admin experience across all our tools.
  • Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
  • We are creating more user guides for specific parts of the system such as adding a new market.
  • We are creating videos for the most important parts of initial launch customization.
  • We are documenting the testing needed for going Live with your platform.
