Release Notes: April 16, 2020

Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of April 16th, 2020.

Our Learning Experience team is rocking it this week with a ton of new help files and videos.  If you haven’t noticed, our help center has exploded in the last few months and the resources available to all of our clients now are absolutely incredible thanks to this team! Don’t miss their release notes towards the bottom of this post.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🎁 New! Custom Fields on Associates [Corp Office] Now developers who want to have custom elements attached to the Associate record have a place where they can add those.  Now up to 10 fields are available on the new CRM_CustomFields table. These fields are also available through GetAssociateDataPoints which means they can be added as configurations on the Retail Site and Web Office!

🌟 Improved! Split Volume Distribution Rules Available to Edit [Corp Office] When a company is ready to set up their split volumes, the table for setting those up is now available.  Use the Data Manger to add/update records to the INV_InventorySplitVolumes table. 

🌟 Improved! Logging Out of One Admin Logs Out of All [Web Office Admin & Retail Site Admin] As we continue to move towards having one unified admin experience, we are logging a user out if they logged in to both the Retail Site Admin and the Web Office Admin. 

🌟 Improved! Retail Assets via AWS to Allow Bulk Uploading [Retail Site Admin] When utilizing our AWS services to upload assets for use on the Retail Site, now there is the ability to upload more than one file at once. 

🌟 Improved! All Components with Descriptions [Retail Site Admin] The instructions to customize all of the components are now included at the top of each template. This will help users who are customizing the Retail Site know how to get component templates turned on and working. 

 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Money Out: Hyperwallet Shows Paid on Error [Corp Office] Hyperwallet has several statuses that could mean the payment failed but all of them were not mapped in our integration. We have updated the integration so any payment response that is cancelled, failed, recalled, returned, or expired will show as failed in our system. 

🐞Fixed: Out of Stock Setting Not Working [Retail Site] When setting your Out of Stock preferences on a Retail Site cart, the setting was not being followed. Now the Retail Site follows the cart configuration setting for Out of Stock. 

🐞Fixed: Party: On Checkout Cards Can’t be Deleted [Web Office Party] When placing an order for a party and the user tried to delete their credit card, it wasn’t saving. Now cards can be deleted without issues. 

🐞Fixed: Commissions > Adjustments Need to Always Show [Web Office] In Commissions, if there is an adjustment made to an associate’s payout, the section (if a new type of adjustment) wouldn’t show until the Admin was set up.  Now the adjustments will show on the payout with default columns.

📘New! Self-Guided Training Module [Training] We took the current training agenda and created a six-step, comprehensive On-Demand training module that walks through all of the recorded webinars, guides, and videos a customer needs to get the DirectScale platform ready for launch.

📘New! Hook Helper Guide [Resource] We know that developers and partners often need more guidance in defining what each hook is meant to do. This resource defines the hook, gives its default use, shows an example, and displays its compatibility with other hooks.

📘New! How to Enable and Edit a Custom Header and Footer in Retail Admin [Articles] Added these articles to help empower more customization in the Retail Admin and eCommerce experience.

📘New! Managing Community Posts with the Web Office Admin [Video] Created a new video on this specific job. 

📘New! Configuring the Business Snapshot with the Web Office Admin [Video] Created a new video on this specific job. 

📘New! How to Upload Files and Assets in the Retail Admin [Article] Added a new How-to article on this specific job.

📘New! How an Associate Can View Volume Distribution in the Web Office [Article] Added a new article on this specific task. 

📘New! How to Import and Export Translations in the Web Office Admin [Articles] Added new articles on these specific jobs.

📘New! How to View an Order’s Volume Distribution in Corporate Office [Article] Added a new article on this specific task.

📘New! How to Add Visual Tree Rank Icons in the Web Office Admin [Article] Added a new article on this specific job.

📘New! How to Add Branding Images to Web Office in the Web Office Admin [Article] Added a new article on this specific job.

🌟 Improved! Importing and Exporting Translations [Tutorial] Made accuracy, usability, and readability updates to the Translations tutorial.

🌟 Improved! Viewing an Associate’s Order Detail [Tutorial] Made updates to the Volume Distribution section of the tutorial.

 

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

• Improving the user experience for when orders have volume that gets distributed over time.
• Better backup options for when tax providers go down. 
• Unifying the Admin experience across all our tools.
• Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
• We are creating more user guides for specific parts of the system such as customization and the eCommerce Shop and Retail Admin.
• We are creating videos for the most important parts of initial customization.
• We are documenting the testing needed for going Live with your platform.
