🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!
🌟 Improved! Avalara Tax for International Taxing [Corp Admin] We have updated our integration with Avalara tax to include passing the currency code and proper country code to enable better support for taxing in international markets.
🔮 Upcoming! Improved Unified Checkout Experience [Retail Site] Our teams are constantly working to improve the shopping experience and right now they are busy working on a whole new way to shop and checkout. Keep your eye on the release notes in the next few weeks to see what’s coming and how to take advantage of these new features.
🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed
🐞Fixed: Re-Run Failed Order [Web Office] This setting was accidentally removed in a recent refactor of the Order History page. This is added back in so if the setting for users in the back office to enable them to re-run their payment on a failed order is enabled, the link is working again.
🐞Fixed: Component Templates Not Saving [Retail Site Admin] Even when following the template instructions exactly, the component templates were not saving. The templates have been cleaned up so now the instructions are correct and will save without issues.
🐞Fixed: Order History Page Displaying with Manage Autoship Title [Retail Site] This is a bug probably no one even noticed. When on the Order History page in the Retail Site, the tab name on the browser was incorrectly displaying as the Manage Autoship page. This has been fixed.
📘 Help Center and Developer Portal
📘New! Tags [Help Center] As a part of continually improving the Help Center, we have added labels to articles in order to increase search results and improve general organization of the content.
📘New! Editing an Order, Printing an Order's Invoice, and Canceling an Order [Articles] Created new articles from steps that previously existed in the Order Detail article so the information would be easier to find.
📘New! Setting Inventory Item Volume Distribution and Viewing Volume Distribution in Web Office [Articles] Created new articles from steps that previously existed in other articles so the information would be easier to find.
📘New! Custom Reward Point Distribution Options [Developers] Added a new version of this content to the Developer Portal.
📘New! Creating Global Coupons [Article] Created a new article out of the steps in Creating Coupons so the information would be easier to find.
🌟 Improved! Get Started with Hooks, Example: Using a Hook, and Front End Development [Developers] Improved 40+ entries with better grammar and usage.
🌟 Improved! Viewing an Associate’s Order Detail [Article] Separated articles into more granular content, improved them, and added cross links.
🌟 Improved! Configuring Warehouses and Setting Up a Shipping Method [Articles] Added a callout to alert users about the correct way to delete warehouses if needed.
🌟 Improved! Adding Item Options [Article] The original article wasn’t focused on Admin tasks and was rewritten into this version which is.
🌟 Improved! Creating an Account with a Payment Provider [Article] Updated to include information on providers that support multiple currencies.
🌟 Improved! Using the XML Compensation Plan Editor, Creating a Basic Compensation Plan, and Adding Compensation Plan Rank Values to the Database [Article] Updated to include a note to use the Developer Portal for these topics instead.
🌟 Improved! Glossary of Important Terms and Concepts, DirectScale Application URLs, and Gaining Access to the Client Extension [Article] Moved to the Introduction to DirectScale area of the Help Center.
🌟 Improved! Permissions [Articles] Added permissions details and improved the content’s grammar, style, and usability for: Adjusting Shipping and Tax on Orders, Adjusting Associate Commission Volume, Entering Tax Service Provider Credentials, Configuring Tax Error Behavior and Backup Services, Adding Tax Classes, Viewing the Fallback Tax Reconciliation Report, Employees Guide, Reporting Guide, Returns and Refunds Guide, Supported 3PL Implementation Guide, GenericFTP Implementation Guide, Coupons Guide, and Reward Points Guide.
🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?
- Improving shipping package support and stock level enhancements
- Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
- We have created a DirectScale Marketplace [Beta] for customers to get access to Apps, Integrations, and other expert industry services and will go “live” with it soon.
- We are working on a Troubleshooting project to improve articles with steps to resolve issues in addition to showing how to do something in the platform.
