Release Notes: January 21, 2021

Here’s what’s new with DirectScale the week of January 21st, 2021.

🎁 New Features and 🌟 Enhancements for All!

🎁 NEW! Price Groups in Coupons [Corp Admin] Now you can create coupons and limit the usage by Price Group. Price Groups are typically the same as your Associate Types. Coupled with the ability to limit by region and order type, this enables you to really target who can and can’t use a coupon.

🌟 Improved! Inventory Warehouse Transfers [Corp Admin] A page existed for transferring inventory from one warehouse to another, but over time that page got neglected and wasn’t being used by any clients. Now that we have more clients interested in this functionality it was time we got it back up and running again. This page now works! You now have the ability to transfer stock levels of inventory from one warehouse to another on a page that really does function.

🌟 Improved! Exclude Voided Orders from Sales Graph [Corp Admin] To get the query for this report to be consistent with the rest of the queries on the page, we added in a statement to not include any orders that have been voided. You should not see a difference in your data because this graph was already filtering out orders w/o an invoice date which gets cleared when an order is voided. Consistency is always nice. 

🌟 Improved! Global Coupons [Corp Admin] Creating a coupon without a coupon code will now create a “Global Coupon”. This coupon will automatically be applied to order(s) once the conditions you set in the coupon create page are met.

🌟 Improved! Preview in Miscellaneous Files [Web Office Admin] When uploading your miscellaneous files, you now can see a preview image to help you find your files faster!

🔮 Upcoming! Improved Unified Checkout Experience [Retail Site] Our teams are constantly working to improve the shopping experience and right now they are busy working on a whole new way to shop and checkout. Keep your eye on the release notes in the next few weeks to see what’s coming and how to take advantage of these new features.

 

🐞 Bugs That Have Been Squashed

🐞Fixed: Updating Reward Points in Admin Wasn’t Saving [Web Office Admin] There is a toggle in the Shopping Cart Admin to turn on Reward Points. This setting was conflicting with custom currency codes so if it was turned on the page would error and not allow you to save the cart. This has been fixed so RWD currencies do not conflict with custom currencies.

📘New! Stock Levels [Guide] Added a new guide for Stock Levels to help users learn how to monitor the amount of stock in your warehouses, manually adjust the stock amounts, add items to warehouses, and create and commit stock reports.

📘New! Resending Email [Articles] Added new articles for Resending an Associate's Welcome Email and Resending an Associate's Order Receipt.

📘New! Generating an RMA in the Corporate Office [Video] Added a new tutorial video to its corresponding article.

📘New! Generating an RMA in Web Office [Video] Added a new tutorial video to its corresponding article.

📘New! Managing Translations in Web Office Admin [Video] Added a new tutorial video to its corresponding article.

📘New! Transferring Inventory [Article] Added a new article in the Inventory topic.

📘New! Moving an Order to Another Associate [Article] Added a new article in the Inventory topic.

📘New! Managing Web Office Community Blocked Words and Phrases [Article] Added a new article in the Inventory topic.

📘New! Flagging Web Office Content as Inappropriate [Article] Added a new article in the Inventory topic.

📘New! Articles for Admins [Article] Created more articles with details specifically for platform administrators including: Adding Google Analytics Tracking to the eCommerce Shop, Creating Redirect Login Events for Your eCommerce Shop, and Adding an External Page to Admin Navigation.

🌟 Improved! Role Specific Help Content [Article] Split Creating and Changing Associate Statuses into Changing Associate Statuses and Creating Associate Statuses because they apply to different roles. Also split Modifying the Web Office Login Page into Adding Web Office Login Page Restrictions and Custom Web Office Login Page Content because they apply to different roles. Simplified and improved the wording and style for all articles.

🌟 Improved! Permissions [Articles] Added permissions and generally improved Web Office Localization.

🌟 Improved! Adding Vendors and POs [Article] Split up Adding Vendors and Creating Purchase Orders into their own articles.

🌟 Improved! Adding Vendors and POs [Article] Made improvements and clarifications to Transferring Inventory and Receiving Inventory.

🐞Fixed! Broken Links [Video] Improved wording and fixed broken links in: Using the SQL Manager to view data, Customizing the Shop's Footer, AutoShip DailyRun and Retry Rules, Solution: Pick a Pack, Platform Configuration, Example: Using a Hook, Getting Started, Redirect Payment Provider Clean Up, eCommerce Shop Setup Checklist.

 

🔮 What Cool Things Are We Working On?

• Improving shipping package support and stock level enhancements
• Ongoing enhancements to improve Retail Admin’s ease of use and add new configurable settings.
• We have created a DirectScale Marketplace [Beta] for customers to get access to Apps, Integrations, and other expert industry services and will go “live” with it soon.
• We are gathering more Compensation Plan code examples and documentation for developers.
• We are working on a Troubleshooting project to improve articles with steps to resolve issues in addition to showing how to do something in the platform.
